WHAT'S NEW

Mission Accomplished!!!

We finally made it.  We are generally moved in and 99% unpacked
and ready to do business.  You may have noticed our web site
was off line for a while, but we seem to have our DSL problems
resolved.  Our apologies for the aggravation.

Make sure you make the mailing address change.  Come see us
if you are in the neighborhood and we'll give you the grand tour.

NEWS ON MOVING

After a lot of hassle with remodeling, carpet, phones, wiring
etc., we have settled on a date for our move to our new
location (waiting is the hardest part!).  JANUARY 11, 2003 is the big day!

With luck, our phones will be operative on January 10 at the
new location.  Furniture and all our stuff moves on the 11th
and if we are lucky, we should be half way operational by
Monday the 13th (half in boxes, half out).

PHONE AND FAX NUMBERS STAY THE SAME.

New mailing address:
9609B Comanche NE
Albuquerque, NM  87111

Bear with us in the meantime, nothing quite goes the way
you plan it (Murphy?).  Come see us if you are in the
neighborhood.

FAX TRAFFIC JAMS

For some odd reason, we have been receiving an inordinate amount of
FAX'es lately!!!  For the time being, we have setup an alternate when
you get caught in traffic - please try the old number first.  If that
is busy use 505-332-4606.  If this becomes a permanent state of affairs,
we will eventually put in another line.  Happy FAXing!

We have revised the homeowners applications and the dwelling fire application.
Please use the revised forms (available on this site).  You will notice under the
construction questions we have asked regarding "EIFS" systems.  We are not in
a position to consider dwellings with this form of stucco application.  If you are
unsure what these systems involve, please see the EIFS explanation on this site.

With the implementation of our new binding contract with Lloyd's Underwriters, we have
made several minor changes in the HO-3 form that we were previously using.  The updated
coverage form is available for your review on the Apps & Forms page.  Underlined sections
are additions to the previous form.  We have also made some changes to the DP-3 and DP-1
and they will be available for review shortly.

Effective immediately we have a new market for COMMERCIAL LINES.  The program is in most respects similar to
what we had with St. Paul Re.  Business is placed under a binding contract with Lloyd's Underwriters.

Generally, we can quote qualifying risks with a set of ACORD applications.  If you are in doubt as to whether
we will consider a given risk, give us a call.

Same rates, same apps, same policy forms and endorsements.  We will be forwarding additional information in the near
future.

Thanks for your patience with us in the past few weeks.

"One Signature" Homeowners Limitation Endorsements

In an effort to make things easier for you, we have revised the limitation endorsements to one page which only requires one signature from the insured.  You can get them by downloading the Homeowners application, or just get the endorsements alone by downloading "Application Limitation Endorsements".  Hope this helps!

ELECTRONIC POLICY DELIVERY?  Give us your thoughts.

We are considering making electronic delivery of policies available to agents.  Issued policies would be transmitted to your agency's E-Mail address as a .pdf attachment to a regular E-Mail (this is the same format that are apps and forms are on this site).  You could then print out the insured's copy, either electronically archive your copy or print it out.  There would be no wait on the mail, you would have your policy the minute it was issued.

Due to our decreased overhead in producing policies, agents that took advantage of this program could expect an increase in commission levels.

(New Mexico statute allows electronic records for compliance with the law.  Colorado does not yet allow electronic records, so agents would have to maintain a paper copy.)

If you would be interested in such a program, please give us you thoughts by use of the feedback form on this site, E-mail, FAX or letter.

New Firearms Exclusion applying to all personal lines policies
with liability coverages.

Effective 6/1/01 on new business and 8/1/01 on renewal business, we will require an
additional signed endorsement excluding firearms to be signed prior to issuance of any
policy.  We have not only had several firearms losses ourselves, but the current legal
climate in terms of responsibility for the use of firearms has significantly widened our
exposures.  The State of New Mexico has also recently passed a concealed weapons
law which we feel will further broaden our exposure.
